Bishop & Mrs. G. E. Patterson

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above  rubies.

"Proverbs 31:10"

Just ask Louise Patterson what it's like to married to Bishop Patterson and you'll get a quick response in a tone that won't disguise her overwhelming joy of being the first lady. "It's never a dull moment. Everyday is challenging," she admits.   "It's very exciting being married to the bishop." Saved under her husband's ministry, she says that what she is today is a result of his teachings.  She met the bishop in 1967 while he was co-pastoring Holy Temple Church of God in Christ.  "His message was so captivating.  There was something lacking in my life and his message triggered my deliverance," she said. "I experienced the Lord for  myself."

Their courtship was brief, and a year later they were united in holy matrimony.  Their church backgrounds were very diverse.  She was brought up in the Methodist church, and had to get accustomed to the doctrines and rituals of the Church of God in Christ. "I had to get used to the long prayers," she says with a great sense of humor.

Early in her husband's pastorate, she was a member of the church choir and taught Sunday school. "I believe wholeheartedly in his ministry.  His first love is for God and God's house.  That ignites my energy."

The Bishop and his wife of over 33 years compliment each other well.  If the statement behind every good man, there is a good woman, has any validity at all, then behind Bishop Patterson is a good looking, good woman.

A woman of remarkable intelligence and grace, wears the role of first lady well.  Blessed with good looks and striking features, she is known for her fashionable dress code and her flair for stylish apparel.  Her warm, compassionate nature transcends beyond the naked eye.  "She is a well dressed attractive first lady.  She shows that holy women can be women of class and distinction,"  Bishop Patterson say proudly.  "She does a lot keep the women of the church actively involved in moving forward.  One major role she enjoys now is serving as President of the Christian Women's Auxiliary, the women's department at Temple of Deliverance."

She is a busy first lady, and has the awesome task of reading and answering thousand of letters sent to Bishop Patterson, which is a very important part of his successful ministry.  They pray and consult with one another over countless letters and decide how to respond to the sender's needs.

"This work is real, and sometimes you don't have all the answers.  I love doing it because it keeps me in touch with real world."
